.NAME Domain Name Registrations

Set up in 2001, the .NAME universal extension is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other designations people are famous by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to reserve john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level domains remained online.

Through our company, you can purchase your .NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to switch the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer authorization key from the current registrar and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. There are no specific terms on who can buy a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the goal behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.

The dot NAME universal top-level extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the precise spelling in your native language.
