A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to nonexistent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a spelling error. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam, but this problem can be fixed by using anti-spam protection software. It is also vital to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward inbound messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

If you have a website hosting with us and you’d like to activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox that you’ve got in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can pick one single email address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to mistyped email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

You will be able to create a catch-all address with no more than a click in case you have a semi-dedicated server with our company and your emails are handled by our cloud platform. All the email addresses that you set up with any domain name hosted in the semi-dedicated hosting account will be enumerated in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a mini "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to enable the feature will be to click that icon. In the same fashion you will be able to disable the feature, in case you don’t need it any longer. Our system will notify you in case you are attempting to enable a 2nd catch-all address for a specific domain name or in case there is active email forwarding, but it will never deactivate or modify any feature automatically or without your approval.
